This week we will, once again, host a special speaker, who will introduce us to the complexity of mechanistic causations in cognitive neuroscience. We will consider whether drawing conclusions from the mechanisms at a lower level is justified. Can we draw conclusions from the research on changes of mental state and its influence on the states of the brain? What is the relationship between mechanistic explanations and causal explanations?
