Coming Saturday, 22nd of May 2021, the Murder mystery hike organized by the Travel committee will take you to the Duivelsberg, a 75.9 m hill and nature reserve located in the moraine east of Nijmegen.
In this nature reserve full of history, fights, and mystery, we would like to invite you on a Murder mystery hike to help us unravel the secret of a peculiar murder that took place here: In his own mansion, Count Balderik was found dead one morning. His wife Adela, their child, Balderik’s crazy brother and the family’s gardener are shocked about the recent happenings and the police are still in the dark about who might have killed Count Balderik…
Will you join us to solve the murder of Count Balderik? 🕵️♂️
While hiking in groups of two, you will investigate the murder by solving riddles and asking questions to the witnesses of the murder. The murder mystery hike will take around 2 hours and depending on the number of sign-ups the first group will start around 11:00 or 12:00 (note: earlier than originally announced!). We will inform you about your exact starting time at least one day before the activity. Please sign up before the 19th of May, either by yourself or with a partner. If you sign up alone we will pair you with someone else.

As there is quite a bit of walking involved and the weather may be bad, remember to bring good shoes which can get dirty 🥾, and an umbrella ☂️ and/or a rain jacket 🧥 if necessary. You also may want to bring some lunch or money for some delicious food at the Pannekoeken restaurant at the Duivelsberg. It is also important that at least one person in your group has mobile data on their phone to solve the riddles!
From Nijmegen, it is a 30-40 minutes bike ride to the Duivelsberg, however keep in mind that the route is hilly. You can find a nice bike route in the first picture below. If you come by car, you can park at the Parkeerplaats Duivelsberg (pink line on the map in the second picture). You can also leave your bikes here if you don’t want to bike up the hill, otherwise you can just park in front of the Pannenkoeken restaurant where you will start the hike.
We are looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday to help us solve the murder of Count Balderik! 😄
